My life has been a bit a whirlwind for the last 5 years... but I couldn't be more thankful for it! I'm married to a great man, living in one of the best cities in the country, and working for a social service agency that I believe in, doing a job that I love, and, now, am "mommy" to my first child!
Here's how it all happened...
January 2008: Living in Eugene, Oregon. Met a guy online (and then in person)... kinda liked him.
April 2008: Got accepted to grad school... in CANADA. Visited the school... kinda liked it. Told the guy I kinda liked that I was going to be moving in a few short months, and wasn't sure what that meant for our young relationship.
Later April 2008: Guy I kinda liked announced that he was going to move to Canada with me... and started figuring out the logistics. Scared the shit out of me.
July 2008: Moved in with guy in his place to test the waters before we moved "internationally" together. Kinda liked it.
September 2008: Moved to Surrey, BC (outside of Vancouver) and started work on my Masters at Simon Fraser University.
June 2009: Guy moved back to Oregon for the summer. I was finishing up my coursework and would be moving back in September to start my internship and project paper.
July 4, 2009: Went to Oregon for the holiday... specifically out to the coast to relax and watch the fireworks. Guy I had once kinda liked, and now felt much more for, pulled out a ring and asked me to marry him. I said yes.
August 2009: Moved to Portland, Oregon (a city that I fall in love with a little bit more every day). Started my internship and continued researching for my project paper.
November 2009: Saw a job on Craigslist that I thought would be PERFECT for me... after I was done with my degree. Decided to apply anyway. Three interviews later, I got the job.
December 2009: Started new job, full-time. Wrote my thesis/project paper on the weekends and during lunch breaks.
February 2010: Finished first draft of paper. Submitted. Started hard core on the wedding planning.
June 2010: Returned to BC for my final presentation and to complete degree requirements.
August 2010: Got married!
September 2010: Honeymoon in New Zealand!
October 2010: Started house hunting.
December 2010: Got the keys to our first house!
August 2011: Found out we were going to have a baby!
April 2012: Emily was born... and another chapter to my wonderful life began!
